Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager in supervising daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Lead and motivate team members to deliver outstanding customer service and achieve sales goals
- Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, and merchandising to maximize sales potential
- Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new employees
- Manage payroll, cash handling, and bookkeeping tasks accurately and efficiently
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and retail regulations
- Provide training and development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and performance
Skills
- Strong leadership with previous assistant manager or supervisory experience in retail or grocery stores
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members, customers, and vendors
- Proficiency in inventory control, POS systems, pricing strategies, and retail math
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, merchandising, and marketing strategies
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively while handling multiple priorities
- Experience with employee orientation, training & development, budgeting, and sales management
- Knowledge of cashiering, cash handling procedures, payroll processing, and bookkeeping practices
- Strong organizational skills combined with attention to detail in stock management and store operations
