Accounts Receivable Specialist
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Receivable Specialist with 1–3 years of experience in accounts receivable and billing functions. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with ERP systems and reporting tools. A strong understanding of accounting principles, cash collections, credit card payments, and cash applications, as well as customer account management. This role is responsible for ensuring timely collection of outstanding receivables while maintaining positive customer relationships and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accurate customer invoices and in a timely manner.
- Monitor customer accounts to identify overdue payments and initiate collection activities.
- Apply customer payments and reconcile accounts receivable transactions.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, deductions, and payment issues.
- Maintain accurate customer account records within the accounting system.
- Prepare customer A/R ageing reports and assist with month-end closing activities.
- Collaborate with customers, sales teams, and internal departments to resolve account-related inquiries.
- Support credit and collections processes to minimize outstanding balances.
- Reconcile accounts and assist with account analysis as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
- Generate and maintain accounts receivable reports and documentation as required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma and/or Associate’s in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of Accounts Receivable, Billing, Collections, or related accounting experience.
- Experience using ERP Systems for accounts receivable transactions and reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cash application and account reconciliations.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience working in a shared services or corporate accounting environment.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and reporting tools. SAP experience a plus.
