One of our major luxury clients is currently looking for an Allocator to join their team on a freelance basis. Role pays 38/hr and is hybrid. 3 days in office 2 days remote in NYC.
Timeframe: Immediately; 3 months + potential to cover longer
- Responsible for ensuring all stores have the appropriate stock levels by style and category.
- Manage inventory from initial allocation through end-of-life cycle of merchandise, including replenishment, style expansion, and consolidation of goods to other stores or channels.
- Manage overall store inventory levels based on store capacity, attributes, seasonality, and selling curves.
- Conduct daily allocations to replenish products across all stores, including core, seasonal, and new product assortments, as well as aged inventory where applicable.
- Review, analyze, and respond to product requests and multi-unit confirmed sales from stores.
- Update and manage allocation forecasts on a weekly basis to support business decisions, including inventory rebalancing, destocking opportunities, and new product flow.
- Partner with Planning and Buying teams to determine the flow of new products into stores on a weekly and monthly basis, considering collection launches, inventory levels, and forecasted category needs.
- Work closely with Logistics and Retail Leadership to manage shipment timing, shipping capacity, targeted in-store delivery dates, and the flow of goods during peak selling periods.
- Analyze stock levels by style and store and initiate inter-store transfers and consolidations to rebalance inventory on a regular basis.
- Partner with Planning teams to analyze business performance on a weekly basis and develop action plans to improve sales, inventory productivity, and store performance.
- At the end of each season, partner with Planning teams to identify categories or collections with excess inventory and support decisions related to style expansion, markdown strategies, alternate sales channels, and promotional opportunities.
- Communicate weekly product delivery updates to stores, including product details and supporting imagery where applicable.
- Assist Planning teams with executing store goals, markdowns, and other business-critical initiatives.
