Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Alterations Tailor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing garment alterations and repairs with precision and care, ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong sewing skills, experience in garment construction, and a passion for delivering high-quality craftsmanship in a fast-paced retail environment.
Duties
- Perform alterations such as hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and resizing garments to meet customer specifications
- Use sewing machines skillfully to assemble, repair, or modify clothing items
- Consult with customers to understand their alteration needs and provide expert advice
- Ensure all garments are finished with attention to detail and quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling of sewing tools and materials
- Collaborate with team members to manage workload efficiently and meet deadlines
- Assist in maintaining inventory of sewing supplies and tools
Qualifications
- Proven experience in garment alterations, tailoring, or related sewing roles within fashion retail or garment industry
- Proficiency with sewing machines and garment construction techniques
- Strong understanding of sewing, garment fitting, and basic math for measurements and adjustments
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards
- Knowledge of fashion retail operations is a plus but not required
