Join our dynamic team as an in-house tailor for alterations, where your craftsmanship and attention to detail will bring garments to life! You will be the go-to expert for customizing and perfecting clothing items to meet our customers’ unique needs. Your skills in sewing, garment construction, and customer service will ensure every piece fits flawlessly and exceeds expectations. Responsibilities
- Perform alterations and repairs on a variety of garments, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and resizing clothing items with precision.
- Use sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to ensure high-quality finishes on all alterations.
- Consult with customers to understand their specific fitting needs and provide expert advice on garment adjustments.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure all tools and equipment are properly cared for and functioning efficiently.
- Follow garment construction standards and safety procedures during all alteration processes.
- Accurately measure clients using basic math skills to ensure precise tailoring adjustments.
- Collaborate with store staff to manage workload efficiently while delivering excellent customer service.
Experience
- Proven experience in fashion retail or garment alterations, demonstrating strong sewing skills and garment construction knowledge.
- Proficiency with sewing machines, hand sewing, and basic tailoring techniques.
- Familiarity with garment fitting adjustments, including hemming, seam alterations, and resizing.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Ability to interpret customer requests accurately and provide tailored solutions.
- Basic math skills for taking measurements and calculating adjustments accurately.
- Knowledge of fashion trends and fabric types.
Pay: $29,000.00 – $38,000.00 per year
