Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service by understanding their needs and offering expert product recommendations
- Operate the cash register (POS system), handle retail sales transactions accurately, and manage cash drawer handling with integrity
- Assist with stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and maintaining attractive visual displays through merchandising best practices
- Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits of apparel items, encouraging upselling opportunities to maximize sales
- Support inventory management by receiving shipments, verifying stock quantities, and ensuring products are properly stored and displayed
- Demonstrate phone etiquette when assisting customers via calls or inquiries, maintaining professionalism at all times
- Engage customers in retail conversations about store product knowledge, current trends, and promotions to boost sales and enhance shopping experiences
Skills
- Proven experience operating POS systems and managing retail sales transactions efficiently
- Supervising experience or leadership skills that enable guiding team members or assisting in store operations when needed
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for cash handling, sales calculations, and inventory counts
- Strong communication skills in both bilingual settings (if applicable) and clear verbal interactions with customers and team members
- Knowledge of merchandising principles to create appealing displays that attract customer attention
- Experience conducting product demos and upselling techniques to increase sales opportunities
- Excellent phone etiquette for professional customer interactions over the phone or via digital communication channels
- Familiarity with retail store product knowledge across apparel categories to assist customers effectively
