Job Overview
We’re looking for a strategic, trend‑savvy Retail Apparel Buyer to lead our apparel assortment across performance, lifestyle, and outdoor categories. This role blends data‑driven decision‑making with a strong eye for style, ensuring our customers discover products that inspire them to move, explore, and express themselves. You’ll own the end‑to‑end buying process—from market research and vendor negotiations to assortment planning and in‑store execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop seasonal apparel assortments aligned with brand positioning, customer insights, and financial targets.
- Analyze sales trends, customer behavior, and market shifts to optimize category performance.
- Build balanced assortments across performance, athleisure, outdoor, and lifestyle segments.
- Source and evaluate new brands, products, and innovations in the sporting and lifestyle apparel space.
- Manager pricing, terms, delivery schedules, and exclusives with vendors.
- Maintain strong relationships with key brand partners to secure competitive advantages.
- Forecast demand and manage inventory levels to maximize sales and minimize markdowns.
- Attend trade shows, market appointments, and brand presentations to identify emerging opportunities.
- Work with visual merchandising to ensure assortments are presented in compelling, brand‑right ways.
Requirements
- Previous buying experience in apparel, sporting goods, outdoor, or lifestyle retail preferred.
- Proficiency in retail math, budgeting, and POS systems to ensure smooth store operations.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation, purchasing, inventory management, and sales management.
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining organizational skills in a fast-paced setting.
- Passion to work in a team based, fun environment centered around sporting goods, outdoor culture and lifestyle fashion.
