Reporting to: VP Buying & Sourcing
Role Description
Based in Dhaka, the Buying Office Director is responsible for the overall management and structuring of the local buying office. This includes optimizing industrial processes, controlling purchasing costs, and maximizing margin performance.
- Sourcing, auditing, selection, and negotiation with suppliers
- Redefining working processes and implementing new procedures
- Establishing standard methodologies applicable to all Group brands
- Supporting suppliers to drive continuous improvement plans
- Investigating new routes, regions, suppliers, and industrial processes
- Planning, supervising, and controlling all production processes to ensure products meet the Group's aesthetics, quality, and lead time standards
- Defining and planning buying strategies with Buying Directors and Global Sourcing Director, to be executed by relevant teams on a seasonal basis
- Implementing mid-term sourcing strategy for the Group
Profile and Experience
The ideal candidate will have accumulated a minimum of fifteen years’ experience in Asia, leading sourcing and buying offices for fashion and apparel brands. A specialist in the field, this individual possesses comprehensive expertise in sourcing, supply chain management, and retail operations.
Demonstrated experience with fabrics, materials, and industrial processes is regarded as a significant asset.
The Buying Office Director is a capable leader, adept at communicating across all organizational levels and within multicultural environments. Proven ability to meet demanding challenges and excel in a target-driven context is essential.
