Coniglio Palm Beach, a rapidly growing luxury resortwear brand, is seeking an experienced and highly creative Women's Apparel Designer to join our team. Reporting directly to the Founder, this individual will play a key role in shaping the creative direction of the brand and developing seasonal collections across all apparel categories, including dresses, separates, knitwear, sweaters, cover-ups, and special capsule collections. Working closely with leadership across design, merchandising, production, sales, and technical design, the Designer will help translate the brand's vision into commercially successful collections that reflect the distinctive Coniglio Palm Beach aesthetic.
The ideal candidate combines strong creative vision with technical expertise and a deep understanding of the luxury contemporary market. They will possess experience in trend forecasting, fabric development, garment construction, fit, and merchandising, with the ability to take products from initial concept through production. This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment as the brand continues its expansion in the global luxury market.
Responsibilities
- Partner directly with the Founder to develop and execute the overall creative vision of the brand.
- Research and identify emerging fashion, lifestyle, travel, color, print, fabric, and silhouette trends relevant to the luxury resortwear customer.
- Create seasonal inspiration boards, mood concepts, color palettes, and category strategies.
- Design and develop collections across all apparel categories including dresses, separates, knitwear, sweaters, cover-ups, and special projects.
- Collaborate with print designers and creative teams to develop exclusive prints and seasonal storytelling.
- Conceptualize innovative silhouettes and fit solutions that support the brand's commitment to versatility and inclusive sizing.
- Build seasonal assortments aligned with merchandising strategies, sales goals, and growth opportunities.
- Conduct regular market research, competitive shopping, and trend analysis to identify white-space opportunities.
- Source and develop fabrics, trims, embellishments, yarns, washes, and special construction details.
- Ensure all products are designed within target costing and margin objectives.
- Work closely with overseas factories and development partners to execute design intent while maintaining quality standards.
- Review and approve sketches, CADs, technical packages, and development samples.
- Attend all fittings including prototype, fit, SMS, and production fittings.
- Partner with Technical Design to communicate fit corrections and construction improvements.
- Collaborate with Production and Sourcing teams to ensure product integrity throughout development and production.
- Participate in line reviews, merchandising meetings, and seasonal strategy sessions.
- Support the preparation and styling of market appointments, showroom presentations, photo shoots, and retail launches.
- Manage seasonal calendars and ensure adherence to all design and development milestones.
- Mentor and provide creative guidance to junior team members as the design organization grows.
- Identify new product categories and expansion opportunities to support the brand's long-term growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
- 5–7+ years of women's apparel design experience, preferably within contemporary, luxury, resortwear, or ready-to-wear brands.
- Strong expertise across woven apparel, dresses, separates, knitwear, and sweaters.
- Exceptional taste level and understanding of luxury fashion positioning.
- Proven ability to develop collections from concept through production.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to balance creativity with commercial viability and business objectives.
- Experience working directly with overseas factories and development teams.
- Highly organized with strong project management and prioritization skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with PLM systems preferred.
