About the Role
NYON is looking for a talented Apparel Graphic Designer to join our Creative team. This person will play a key role in designing graphics across our apparel collections, collaborations, and special projects while helping shape the visual identity of the brand.
We’re looking for someone who has exceptional taste, a strong understanding of typography, graphics, and apparel production, and who is deeply connected to fashion, sports, and New York culture. You’ll work closely with our Founder, Production team, Merchandising team, and external partners to bring collections from concept through production.
What You’ll Do
Graphic Design
- Design original graphics, artwork, typography, and layouts for apparel collections across tees, fleece, outerwear, headwear, and accessories
- Create multiple design concepts and iterate based on feedback
- Prepare production-ready artwork, including print-ready files, separations, and technical specifications
- Ensure all artwork meets vendor production requirements
Product Development Support
- Collaborate with Product Development and Production teams throughout the development process
- Review strike-offs, samples, lab dips, embroidery sew-outs, and print approvals
- Help maintain consistency across graphics, trims, labels, packaging, and branding details
- Partner with our Product team to ensure collections feel cohesive and commercially successful
Partnerships & Collaborations
- Design graphics for licensed collections and brand collaborations
- Interpret partner brand guidelines while maintaining the NYON aesthetic
- Prepare presentation materials and artwork for partner approvals
- Incorporate feedback from licensors and partners while preserving creative integrity
Creative & Brand
- Stay ahead of trends in fashion, streetwear, sports, typography, art, and culture
- Research vintage references, archival graphics, and emerging design trends
- Help evolve and protect the visual identity of NYON
Organization
- Maintain organized design files and artwork libraries
- Track revisions and ensure version control across projects
- Meet project deadlines within seasonal calendars and launch timelines
Qualifications
- 3–6+ years of apparel graphic design experience
- Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional typography, graphic design, and apparel work
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
- Experience creating production-ready artwork for screen print, embroidery, applique, patches, and other apparel embellishments
- Strong understanding of garment construction and apparel production processes
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have
- Experience working with licensed products (sports, entertainment, or cultural brands)
- Illustration or hand-drawing skills
