GOLF APPAREL SALES POSITION:
New York Golf Center, Inc., the premier Golf Store in New York City, is seeking an Apparel Specialist Sales Representative.
IDEAL CANDIDATES:
- Strong fashion sense and knowledge of current trends
- Flexible and detail-oriented with a great attitude while ensuring excellent customer service at all times
- Possess a high level of initiative, discretion, and independent judgment, with a can-do attitude
- Be able to multi-task; see things that need to be done and figure out a way to do them effectively and efficiently
- Knowledge of Golf and golfer’s apparel, shoes, and accessories a plus
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
APPAREL SALES ASSOCIATE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greeting customers and promptly assessing their wants and needs
- Accurately completing sales using POS system according to established procedures
- Advising customers on purchase options
- Organizing and effectively merchandising items for sale
- Stocking and cleaning the sales floor
- Utilizing customer-focused selling skills, add-on selling, closing skills, and other sales generating skills
- Practice punctual and reliable attendance
- Exhibit an ability to get along with others
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Prior golf retail experience a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred. High school diploma (or equivalent), or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities with an emphasis on sales and customer service
- Computer proficiency
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently
- Lift, carry and load up to 25 lbs
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Proven track record of being dependable and reliable
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with co-workers and customers
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Commitment to excellence & high standards especially in terms of providing outstanding customer service
