Position Summary
The Apparel Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the clothing department, including production, pricing, merchandising, inventory management, volunteer supervision, and sales floor presentation. This position ensures clothing is processed efficiently, priced appropriately, and displayed in a way that maximizes sales while supporting the mission of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the apparel department.
- Sort, evaluate, and price clothing according to established pricing guidelines, quality standards, and brand recognition.
- Identify name-brand, designer, vintage, and specialty items and price them appropriately.
- Supervise, train, and support volunteers working in the clothing department.
- Assign tasks and monitor productivity to ensure department goals are met.
- Maintain seasonal production schedules and ensure timely transitions between seasonal merchandise.
- Organize and maintain an attractive, clean, and well-stocked sales floor.
- Monitor inventory levels and adjust pricing, promotions, and floor space allocation based on inventory volume and seasonal demand.
- Assist management in developing department sales strategies, discounts, and promotional events.
- Ensure clothing racks, displays, and storage areas remain organized and safe.
- Track production output and department performance.
- Operate pallet jacks and other approved equipment safely and efficiently.
- Move merchandise throughout the store and production areas as needed.
- Assist with cashiering and customer service when required.
- Work collaboratively with other department supervisors and store staff.
- Follow all safety procedures, store policies, and organizational standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous retail, merchandising, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of clothing brands, fashion trends, and resale pricing preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate volunteers and staff.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull loaded carts, racks, and pallet jacks.
- Ability to work in a warehouse and retail environment.

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
