Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Designer to join our growing menswear and boyswear team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical design, garment construction, and fit development with experience in streetwear, contemporary fashion, or casual apparel categories. This role plays a critical part in translating creative concepts into production-ready garments while maintaining the brand’s fit standards, quality, and streetwear aesthetic across all product categories.
Responsibilities:
· Manage sample review process and submit detailed fit comments to overseas factories to ensure timely approvals within seasonal production calendars
· Conduct garment fittings on menswear and boyswear samples to evaluate fit, balance, construction, and overall execution against design intent
· Analyze garments and develop accurate fit specifications, construction corrections, and grading requirements for bulk production
· Create, update, and maintain technical packages including graded specs, construction details, measurement charts, fit comments, and workmanship standards
· Ensure all specifications are production-ready and clearly communicated to overseas vendors within calendar deadlines
· Develop and maintain brand block specifications and fit consistency across categories including knits, fleece, denim, wovens, outerwear, and graphics-driven streetwear product
· Collaborate closely with Design, Production, Merchandising, and Product Development teams to support seasonal product execution and resolve technical issues
· Communicate daily with overseas factories regarding fit corrections, garment construction, workmanship, and production feasibility
· Troubleshoot fit and construction issues with vendors to improve garment quality, consistency, and production efficiency
· Identify opportunities to improve garment construction methods, fit execution, and overall product performance while maintaining design integrity
· Ensure all garments meet company quality standards, measurement tolerances, and customer expectations prior to production approval
Requirements:
· Minimum 5 years of experience in Technical Design, preferably within menswear, boyswear, streetwear, contemporary, or casual apparel
· Extensive knowledge of patternmaking, garment construction, grading, and fit evaluation
· Strong understanding of streetwear silhouettes, washes, fabrication, and modern garment construction techniques
· Experience conducting fittings and communicating technical corrections to overseas factories
· Proficiency in technical packages, spec creation, grading, and fit approval processes
· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven with the ability to manage multiple categories and priorities simultaneously
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced apparel environment
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong follow-through
· Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams and factory partnerships
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented fashion environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 per year
