The Backpacker is a local, well established, adventure outfitter looking for an outgoing, organized & positive Assistant Buyer to assist the Head Buyer with filling our stores with the best outdoor gear & apparel on the market. You will have the opportunity to visit some great destinations while attending trade shows to buy the best gear to help our customers geaux out there.
The Assistant Buyer position includes:
- Buying apparel & footwear
- Buying hard goods, & paddle crafts
- Attend trade shows
- Full time position, M-F
- Paid time off

Qualifications/Skills:
- Knowledge of outdoor gear & apparel
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong sales and interpersonal skills
- Ability to problem-solve
- Detail oriented and organized
- Professional, customer service-oriented mentality
- Positive attitude and a will to succeed independently, as well as part of a team
