A full time Associate Designer is needed for a well known private label apparel company based near Downtown Los Angeles. This role is 5 days onsite. You will assist in all aspects of the design process, including trend research, sketching, sourcing, creating tech packs, and working closely with cross-functional partners in merchandising, production, and overseas vendors. This role is on the Kids design team however Kids experience IS NOT required.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the design team to create cohesive collections aligned with brand and retail partner direction.

Assist in trend forecasting and market research to inspire new designs and seasonal concepts.

Develop flat sketches and design presentations using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

Create and maintain tech packs, including detailed construction and trim specifications.

Attend fittings and assist with garment approvals, tracking sample revisions, and updating technical documents.

Communicate design intent to sourcing and production teams and follow up on sample development.

Participate in fabric and trim sourcing, color approvals, and lab dip reviews.

Support line reviews and presentation materials for internal and retail partner meetings.

Maintain organized digital and physical design archives and sample libraries.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field.

3-5 years of experience in fashion/apparel design (internships or full-time).

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).

Strong sketching skills and knowledge of garment construction and fabrications.

Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Experience working with overseas vendors and understanding of the private label process a plus.

Passion for fashion and a keen eye for trends and commercial viability.

Salary: 75k DOE
