Assistant Handbag Designer: Job Description

Looking for an Assistant designer of handbags. In this role you will be part of a tight knit and dynamic handbag design team. Reports to Handbag Designer

Responsibilities

Assistant Handbag Designer with all responsibilities including but not limited to:

Execution of tech packs off sketches

Organizing developments

Communication with factories and vendors

Knowledge in leather goods a plus

Detail oriented designer

Elevated taste level, interest in fashion and knowledge of the competition

Good hand sketch ability and adobe skills a must

Organizational skills in managing multiple ongoing developments

Able to work Independently on projects and quickly adopt RM design process, expectations and standards

A team player with good communication skills

Consistent in organizing work, design binders and saving work on the shared drive

Who you are:

1-4 years of work experience in handbag design

Ability to work with and build good relationships with team member

Super positive personality, “can do’ and “how can we do better” attitude

Exceptional team player and communication skills—you are proactive, organized, clear, and action-oriented

Thrive in fast-moving organization and able to think outside of the box to self-improve work efficiency

Natural problem-solver who is able to work within an entrepreneurial environment

Strong knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

Work Location and Schedule This job will require that you work from our office in New York, NY, weekdays during normal business hours.
