As the apparel business continues to expand, we are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Assistant Designer to support the VP of Apparel Design in building a scalable, customer-focused apparel division.

The Assistant Designer will play a critical role in supporting seasonal collections, celebrity and influencer collaborations, B2B development programs, fit initiatives, and fabric development projects.
It is a hybrid schedule, 3 days working in the office is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design & Development
• Support the VP of Apparel Design throughout all phases of the design and development process.
• Create and revise CAD sketches, technical flats, colorways, and concept presentations using Adobe Illustrator, AI-powered design tools, or a combination of both.
• Conduct trend, market, and competitive research to support seasonal development.
• Assist in developing apparel collections across dresses, tops, bottoms, sweaters, outerwear, and special projects.
• Create presentation boards, concept decks, and seasonal line review materials.
• Support celebrity, influencer, city, and special collaboration capsules from concept through development.
• Utilize AI-powered creative tools to support concept development, trend research, color exploration, print ideation, presentation creation, and visual communication.
• Explore new technologies and workflows that improve design efficiency, communication, and product development.
Product Development Support
• Assist in launching and tracking fabrics, trims, prints, washes, and new developments.
• Maintain accurate style information, BOMs, line plans, and seasonal design documentation.
• Partner with Product Development and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely follow-up on design requests and sample status.
• Support development and implementation of Cupshe's core fabric library initiative.
• Track development calendars and key milestones to support on-time execution across multiple programs.
Fit & Technical Support
• Support fit review process through organization, documentation, and communication of fit comments across U.S. and China teams.
• Review fit photos, videos, measurement reports, and factory feedback to help track fit, construction, and quality revisions throughout development.
• Maintain organized fit records, revision history, and sample tracking documentation.
• Assist in preparing fit review materials, sample organization, and follow-up communication with Product Development, Technical Design, and factory partners.
• Support implementation and maintenance of category-specific fit standards and development guidelines.
• Participate in live fittings when applicable and support documentation of fit comments and next steps.
Design Operations
• Maintain monthly line plans, style trackers, and development calendars.
• Prepare samples and materials for proto reviews, line reviews, milestone meetings, and executive presentations.
• Document meeting notes, development feedback, and fit comments while tracking action items across cross-functional partners.
• Organize and track inspiration, vendor, development, and fit samples across U.S. and China teams.
• Support vendor meetings and seasonal development reviews.
• Assist in preparing materials for celebrity, influencer, and B2B presentations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Communicate regularly with Design, Product Development, Technical Design, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Marketing, and overseas teams.
• Support coordination between U.S. and China teams across development milestones.
• Assist in managing communication, sample tracking, and follow-up for collaboration capsules and B2B programs.
• Help ensure alignment between all product/customer strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of apparel design, product development, or design coordination experience.
• Strong Adobe Illustrator skills required.
• Proficiency in Photoshop and InDesign preferred.
• Strong visual communication skills with the ability to create professional CADs, technical flats, and concept presentations using Illustrator, AI-powered design tools, or a combination of both.
• Experience working with PLM systems preferred.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.
• Understanding of apparel construction, garment fit, and fabrication.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable collaborating with overseas teams and working across multiple time zones when necessary.
• Interest in emerging AI tools and technologies within the fashion, design, and product development space.
• Ability to quickly learn and adopt new digital tools and workflows.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in women's apparel, contemporary fashion, swimwear, or lifestyle brands.
• Familiarity with overseas development and factory communication.
• Knowledge of fabric sourcing and textile development.
• Experience supporting influencer, celebrity, or collaboration collections.
• Experience using AI-powered creative tools such as ChatGPT, Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Vizcom, Newarc, Krea, or similar platforms.
• Interest in leveraging AI to improve design workflow, concept generation, trend analysis, communication, and development efficiency.
