Position Summary
The Assistant Designer will support the Design Director throughout the product development process by assisting with sample execution, technical design support, organization, and daily design operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and passionate about contemporary fashion, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize the sample room
- Track domestic and overseas samples to ensure timely delivery
- Organize and maintain showroom samples to ensure presentation readiness
- Maintain the seasonal swatch library by vendor, fabrication, and quality
- Assist with trend research, inspiration boards, and presentation materials
- Partner with Design, Product Development, Technical Design, and Production teams to support daily workflow and ensure timely sample execution
- Maintain strong organizational skills while managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field
- 1+ years of apparel design or design support experience
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Basic understanding of garment construction, fit, and the product development process
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
