We are seeking a highly organized, creative, and detail-oriented Design Assistant to support our Product Development and Design teams across men’s and women’s apparel categories.
Position Summary
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career designer looking to gain hands-on experience in apparel design, product management, trend research, and sample management. The Design Assistant will work closely with the Design Director to help bring seasonal collections from concept to completion.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the development of seasonal apparel collections across men’s and women’s categories.
- Create and maintain presentation boards, inspiration decks, color palettes, and trend research.
- Prepare and organize development tech packs, design specifications, and development documents.
- Track samples throughout the development process and maintain sample organization.
- Support fitting sessions by taking notes and updating fit comments.
- Assist with fabric, trim, wash, and color approvals when needed.
- Organize seasonal line sheets and merchandising materials.
- Conduct market research and competitive shopping analysis.
- Maintain digital asset libraries, CAD files, and seasonal design archives.
- Assist with photo shoots, lookbooks, and marketing-related creative projects as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Production, Sales, and Marketing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Fashion Merchandising, or related field.
- 0–2 years of apparel industry experience (internships welcome).
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion for fashion, sustainability, and lifestyle brands.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating technical flats and CADs.
- Familiarity with tech packs and garment construction.
- Understanding of fabrics, trims, washes, and apparel manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace.
- Interest in sustainable fashion and responsible sourcing.
