Client Overview:The client is a leading wholesale intimate apparel and sleepwear company.
Position Overview:Assistant Designer will support the design team to help with a launch of three new brands that were recently acquired.
Assistant Designer Responsibilities:
Research the market and assist designer with seasonal trends, colors, prints and silhouettes to support the senior team.
Attend and assist in design meetings, proto reviews, and line reviews.
Assist in preparations for product presentations and market week. Responsible for managing execution of production packages including color and trim specifications and preparing production ready print and graphic artwork.
Project manage production timelines, sending out artwork and color standards.
Check sample requests, development packages, and production packages for accuracy, (including pricing), prior to sending to factories.
Correspond with overseas factories regarding production.
Oversee production work of assistant designers; delegate work and tasks based on priority.
Work with senior team in choosing colors and prints for design presentations.
Assist designers with the trim and fabric library, color pallets, and flat sketching.
Recolor prints in multiple seasonal colorways.
Assist Designer with strike offs and lab dips.
Execute organized and accurate technical development packages that include construction details, sketches, fabrications, trims, print, and color details.
Attend fittings to support senior team.
Manage day to day projects including filing and organizing.
Assist Designer with strike offs and lab dips.
