About The RoleReporting to the Director, Vendor Strategy, you as the Assistant Designer, Design & Product Development are responsible for communicating with vendors to provide trend-right styles and act as a consultative partner on behalf of Fashion Nova on buying decisions. You will compile samples from vendors and provide buyer feedback to optimize the garments. You will oversee the recommendation of trends and colors for future developments. You will be working with domestic and international vendors and manufacturers.

Responsibilities

Contribute to overall trend and direction for each season, for all designs, labels and specific categories

Design styles, develop or select trims, and identify colors for fabrics selected at the Raw Materials meeting

Work with vendors to globally source, find fabrics and new styles that are within budgetary guidelines to develop.

Assist with the Product Development and Buying team on a weekly basis to review emerging trends to chase in-season.

Track development samples and Pack / Unpack packages

Participate in fittings and provide input on garment adjustments and improvements

Manage weekly fittings.

Required Skills

1+ years of experience with Design, Account Management, or Project/Program Management related to Fashion

1+ years of experience working with international manufacturing vendors; thorough understanding of skill sets and capabilities of each vendor within the design and manufacturing process.

Highly creative, organized and self motivated with the ability to multitask and work independently in a fast paced environment

Sound communication skills to effectively collaborate with Buying and vendors

Proficient computer skills (Google Workspace, Photoshop, Illustrator)

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

Percentage of Travel: 10% of time traveling internationally to visit vendors

English, additional language(s) an advantage

Schedule of this position: Monday – Friday | Core business hours | Onsite
