An Assistant Designer who has knowledge in garment construction. You thrive in a rapidly changing environment, are curious and have the vision to help build and develop the brand. You have a great eye for detail, exude a strong fashion sense, and are extremely industry savvy.
What You’ll Do:
Design Development
Understand the Michael Kors aesthetic and translate it into seasonal products
Seasonal research including trend and market research
Creatively develop design mockups in-house
Understanding of garment construction
Understanding of woven fabrics
Sketching on photoshop and illustrator
Create tech packs: proto through to bulk on a PLM system preferably Centric
Involved in proto & production fitting and be able to communicate design comments to cross functional teams and overseas offices
Administrative Duties
Daily communication with vendors globally
Daily communication with cross functional teams internally and manage updates and requests
Assist in day-to-day projects including emails, meeting preparations and updating tech packs
You’ll Need to Have:
1-2+ years of related experience with excellent technical knowledge
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Prior experience with PLM preferably Centric
Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills
Ability to work in office 3-5 days a week (meeting dependent)
We’d Love to See:
Experience with flats and technical drawings and CADS in Adobe Illustrator
