Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Fashion Designer role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Assistant Fashion Designer will support the lead designers in developing collections, including sketching concepts, preparing technical drawings, and assisting with fabric and trim selection. Daily tasks include coordinating fittings, documenting alterations, and ensuring sample garments meet design and quality standards. The role involves working with textiles and embroidery details, communicating with pattern makers and sample rooms, and maintaining organized records of styles, materials, and production notes. The Assistant Fashion Designer will collaborate with the design team to refine designs, contribute trend research, and help prepare materials for presentations, lookbooks, and client meetings.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Fashion Design and Fashion skills, including sketching, concept development, and an understanding of garment construction.
- Candidates should possess skills in Textiles and Embroidery, with knowledge of fabric properties, embellishment techniques, and suitability for different silhouettes.
- Candidates should possess Fitting-related skills, including working with models or clients, assessing garment fit, and documenting required adjustments.
- Diploma or degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar fashion design tools) is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills in a fast-paced studio environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with designers, pattern makers, and production teams, and communicate clearly in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
- Previous internship or assistant-level experience in a fashion studio or brand is a plus.
