Your Impact:

Harper’s Bazaar seeks an enthusiastic, detail-minded and creative assistant fashion market editor with great ability to juggle fashion and organization. The assistant fashion market editor, working with the Executive Fashion director, will contribute to the brand’s fashion, feature, video, and cover-style coverage. This role will be responsible for overseeing the fashion closet, trafficking samples in and out of the closet and keeping them well organized, administration for the fashion closet, as well as maintaining the shoot calendar for the fashion department. A love for fashion and experience in a fashion closet is key to this role.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for ongoing fashion closet organization and maintenance, including handling seasonal orders for supplies, and relevant accessories

Oversee daily fashion closet sample activity, both incoming and outgoing, maintaining accurate records with check-in and check-out photos to be uploaded to the server at the end of each day, to ensure records are always up to date with in-closet inventory

Execute and assist sample call-ins for various fashion, cover, feature, and video stories

Maintain the shoot calendar for the fashion department to ensure deadlines are met for upcoming shoots and run-throughs

Organize and prepare for story run-throughs

Unpack, pack, and facilitate shipping of style samples

Coordinate the fashion schedule as relevant for seasonal market/fashion show appointments (in New York, Milan, and Paris), including requesting tickets to shows, booking drivers and hotel rooms

Oversee fashion closet freelancers during times of high-volume photoshoots

Contribute to Editor PIcks stories for SEO digital stories

Qualifications:

A bachelors degree

At least one year of experience at a fashion magazines, as a fashion assistant or a fashion closet assistant

Knowledge of the fashion market and relevant lifestyle brands

Enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced, heavily trafficked fashion sample closet

A team player and positive collaborator with good communication skills for efficient daily results

The base salary for this role is between $60,000 and $61,500. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
