Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager will develop innovative designs for bedding and beach products targeted at the US market, ensuring alignment with trends, client expectations, and brand goals. The role involves working under the guidance of the Design Director in the US, collaborating closely with design teams in the US and India, and understanding customer requirements to deliver high-quality, market-specific products.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop creative concepts for bedding, sheets, utility, soft home accessories, and beach categories for owned brand, licensed brand, and private label customers.
Create conceptual and market appropriate original print/woven and embellished designs through CAD or hand techniques under guidance of senior design team members
Create detailed tech packs and spec sheets for designs, and other specifications.
Upload and manage tech packs, spec sheets, and related data in PLM software (e.g., BeProduct).
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to present and refine design concepts.
Coordinate with merchandising, marketing, and production teams for smooth project execution.
Travel to factory locations to oversee workflows and sampling processes.
Ensure design quality and address production-related challenges.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Textile/Fashion Design or related field.
4-6 years of experience in textile design for export markets, particularly bedding and beach categories.
Proficiency in design tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD software.
Hands-on experience with PLM tools such as BeProduct preferred, but not required.
Strong understanding of US market trends and consumer preferences preferred, but not required.
Experience in creating tech packs and spec sheets with accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills.
