We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as a Buyer. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in our sourcing operations, specifically focusing on knit wear and and casual wear categories. The candidate should possess a strong background in buying, with a proven track record of successfully managing buying activities, with experience in launching premium brands.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop and execute buying strategies for knitwear and casual wear categories to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain.
Identify and evaluate potential brands in the region, fostering strong relationships to optimize quality, cost, and delivery.
Collaborate with existing and potential suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to achieve favourable agreements.
Conduct regular supplier assessments and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards, ethical practices, and regulatory requirements.
Analyse market trends and pricing to make informed decisions that optimize costs without compromising product quality.
Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high-quality standards.
Work closely with the quality control team to establish and maintain rigorous quality standards for knitwear andcasual wear.
Implement and monitor quality control processes throughout the sourcing stage.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, production, and category to ensure seamless coordination throughout the supply chain.
Proactively identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure a continuous and reliable flow of products.
Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovations related to knitwear andcausal wear.
Provide regular market insights and recommendations to leadership to guide strategic decision-making.
Ensure all sourcing activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to sourcing agreements, contracts, and supplier information.
Qualification & Competencies
Graduate or Post Graduate from Fashion Institute
Proven experience in buying for knitwear andcasual wear, with a focusin launching premium brands
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Familiarity with international trade regulations and compliance.
Ability to analyze market trends and make data-driven decisions.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
