Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to lead our retail operations and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will oversee daily store activities, manage staff, ensure excellent customer service, and maintain optimal inventory levels. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management principles. The Assistant Store Manager will play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming shopping environment while achieving sales targets and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard new employees to build a high-performing team
  • Provide ongoing training and development to staff to enhance customer service and sales skills
  • Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to maximize sales opportunities
  • Oversee cash handling, cashiering, and POS (Point of Sale) systems to ensure accuracy
  • Develop and implement sales strategies, promotional activities, and marketing initiatives
  • Monitor store performance metrics, prepare reports, and manage budgets effectively
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and legal requirements
  • Foster a positive team environment through effective communication and leadership
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and resolve issues promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels

Requirements

  • Proven management experience in retail store environments with supervising responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of retail math, pricing strategies, inventory management, and POS systems
  • Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly desirable
  • Demonstrated skills in negotiation, recruiting, employee orientation, and training & development
  • Proficiency in bookkeeping, payroll processing, budgeting, and cash handling procedures
  • Ability to perform retail math calculations accurately for sales analysis and pricing decisions
  • Experience with merchandising.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting
  • Leadership qualities with a focus on team management and employee engagement
  • Knowledge of administrative tasks such as scheduling, time management, and record keeping
  • Bilingual or multilingual capabilities to serve diverse customer bases effectively
