POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Store Manager partners with the Store Manager to support overall store performance, including sales results, team development, and operational execution. This role serves as a key leader on the sales floor, ensuring a seamless customer experience while maintaining store standards. When needed, the Assistant Store Manager assumes responsibility for store leadership to ensure continuity in operations and team performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Drive Store Performance:
Collaborate with the Store Manager to achieve key metrics such as sales, labor efficiency, conversion, and inventory control, while maintaining brand and operational standards.

Lead Daily Operations:
Serve as Manager on Duty as needed, overseeing store activities, guiding the team, and ensuring a productive and customer-focused environment.

Team Communication:
Clearly communicate daily priorities, business goals, and expectations while fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.

Talent Development:
Support the training, coaching, and ongoing development of team members to enhance performance and engagement.

Ownership & Execution:
Assist in planning staffing, workload distribution, and sales floor execution to align with business needs.

Problem Solving & Asset Protection:
Address operational challenges effectively while supporting loss prevention and safety initiatives.

Customer Experience:
Promote a service-driven culture by leading by example and coaching associates to deliver a high-quality in-store experience.

Operational Support:
Assist with scheduling, payroll management, and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Merchandising & Inventory:
Help maintain visual standards, ensure inventory accuracy, and uphold a clean, organized store environment.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:
You are an energetic and hands-on retail leader who enjoys working alongside your team on the sales floor. You bring a proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to motivate others to achieve results. You are comfortable taking initiative, stepping into leadership responsibilities when needed, and contributing to both team success and overall store performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1–3 years of experience in a retail leadership or supervisory role (specialty or apparel preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree a plus
  • Proven ability to support sales performance and operational goals
  • Strong interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills
  • Experience with merchandising, inventory processes, and shrink awareness
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Comfortable using retail systems and basic computer applications

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Compensation:
Hourly range: $20 – $22. This is a part-time, non-exempt position. Final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

Work Environment:
This role requires standing for extended periods, moving throughout the sales floor and stockroom, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Employment Requirements:
Employment is contingent upon meeting all applicable eligibility and hiring requirements.

Pay: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour
