REPORTS TO:Photo Studio Manager
LOCATION:onsite in our Park City headquarters office
PAY GRADE:Salary
COMPENSATION RANGE:$45,000 – $50,000
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Assistant Studio Stylist is a creative role responsible for collaborating and executing the look of the Backcountry brand. They will own all styling and assisting in studio for the creative production team. They will be a key member in developing new and innovative looks for the outdoor industry as well as ensuring all members of the production team are set up for success. They will report to the Photo Studio Manager and work closely with the Creative Director, Art Director, and Production Team. This candidate should be knowledgeable in the outdoor space and proficient in technical apparel as well as informed on new and emerging industry and fashion trends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and execute a styling strategy that speaks to the Backcountry and Competitive Cyclist brands, while also driving traffic to site and all other channels.
Skilled in product and model styling.
Based on product assortment and season, the stylist is responsible for creating the key looks in collaboration with design and merchandising teams. These should serve as omni-channel outfitting within all channels, including retail campaigns.
Foster relationships with cross-functional teams and partners; with other creative or product-facing departments (Design, Merchants, and Planning) to create the right presentations for our brands, online and in-store.
Maximize the financial success of our brand by showcasing trends and leveraging key invested items and emerging categories/departments into outfitting and highlighting these details to our customers.
Own the styling workflow including, but not limited to; sample organization, steaming / prep, on-model shoot task-work from setup to breakdown, mannequin dressing in retail stores, prop styling for off model campaigns, and digital documentation.
Assist in production needs, such as booking models, getting lunch orders, pickup/ordering studio necessities for styling and photographers.
Essential part of ensuring the studio space is organized, cleaned, and prepped for shooting. · Collaborate with the Photo Studio Manager, Art Director, and Creative Director to update brand styling guides as well as any necessary documentation in the styling division.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
2+ years of styling experience in an ecomm/digital environment.
Strong men’s and women’s outfitting and on-set skills with a good understanding of fitting multiple body types. Strong understanding of set etiquette.
Strong production assistant experience.
Willing to travel for location campaigns.
Portfolio showcasing previous styling/assistant styling work.
Experience leading and collaborating within a creative marketing team in studio and on location.
Must be organized, self-motivated, and passionate about men’s and women’s styling and branding within e-commerce Must be self-motivated with the ability to self-manage and prioritize daily responsibilities.
Strong communication skills; team-oriented, positive, proactive, and business savvy.
Passion for the outdoors and outdoor gear and clothing.
