ASSISTANT TECHNICAL DESIGNER

Location: Onsite in Culver City, CA
Type: 6 month contract with potential for extension
Compensation Range: $33-38/hr W2

Our retail client is looking for an Assistant Technical Designer for a contract assignment on site in CA. This role assists the Technical Design team during high-intensity fitting preparation, physically measures samples against structural spec sheets, manages and methodically logs items into the seasonal fit sample library, and takes structural notes during fittings to pass off revisions to patternmakers.

Responsibilities:

• Assist tech team in fitting preparations.
• Assist tech team in measuring samples when needed.
• Manage and maintain seasonal fit sample library.
• Attend and participate in weekly fittings and write fit notes when needed to communicate revisions to patternmakers.
• Own Sweatshirts / Pullover style category.
• Other responsibilities will vary according to needs and special projects within the department.
• Report to Director of Technical Design.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Technical Design.
• Advanced operational proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat) along with Microsoft Office.
• PLM (Product Lifecycle Manager) and / or PDM (Product Data Management) experience.
• Foundational knowledge of garment performance, active/athletic construction, and fabric characteristics.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and a strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Highly organized, detail oriented, deadline driven, and able to prioritize multiple task.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem analysis and problem solving.
• Must have an enthusiastic can-do attitude and strong work ethic.
