The Fashion Department at Pratt Institute is seeking a tech-savvy, detailed-orientedAssistant to the Chairwho will supervise the daily fashion office operations and assist the chairperson with administrative duties. The Assistant will proactively identify and address the daily needs of the office to ensure smooth and responsive operation, will handle the departmental activities such as managing budget, events, and communication outreach.

On a Typical Day You Will Be Required To

Support the administrative needs of the Chair to ensure smooth running of daily operations including maintaining calendar; scheduling staff and faculty meetings as needed; coordinating departmental communication via email and social media channel.

In coordination with the Director of Finance; reconciling expenses, managing operations budget, tracking expenses, and processing payments. Coordinate with the Chair and Assistant Chair on all departmental and Institute wide events.

Assist with coordinated special events such as annual fashion show and lecture series.

Hire and oversee student employees in the office and studios.

Other duties as assigned.

Education

B.A. or equivalent required. MA is a plus.

Experience

3 years’ experience administrative, preferably in a higher education or arts administrative environment.

Required Skills

Above average word processing, excel, and digital skills.

Able to generate and edit your own and others’ correspondence.

Must possess a demonstrated ability to use MS Word, EXCEL.

Ability to work with students and staff from diverse backgrounds, as well as demonstrated level of cultural competency.

Salary

is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications, ranging from

$57,600

to

$62,900.

The position is eligible for remote work 1 day per week.
