Role Overview

As a Buyer, you will play a key role in maintaining our reputation as a trendsetter in the fashion industry. You’ll bring your expertise daily, curating innovative and compelling product selections tailored to your category and customer demographic. By analyzing shopping patterns, past purchases, and market trends, you’ll help shape strategic buying and merchandising decisions that keep the company ahead of the competition. Collaborating with a dynamic, cross-functional team, you’ll drive sales, margins, and key business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Gain deep insights in the Consumer by understanding their desires, needs, preferences, and shopping experience.

Develop a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape and key players in the marketplace.

Participate in the development of plans to align to seasonal buying decisions and product purchases.

Take full ownership of the assigned product category, managing product selection, pricing, inventory, and overall performance to drive sales and profitability

Work closely with vendors to identify and select items and drive decisions.

Partner with the rest of the buying team and other team members to partner with new suppliers to bring the best products to our customers.

Drive exclusivity with vendors in products, terms, pricing, vendor-funded-markdowns, etc.

Coach and mentor assistant buyers in product selection, trend analysis, and vendor management while supporting their professional growth through skill development and career guidance.

Manage ad hoc projects as assigned by management, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business objectives.

Role Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising or related field.

At least 2-3 years of experience in buying/merchandising, ideally within the eCommerce fashion space.

Strong negotiation and vendor relationship management skills.

Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills required.

High ability to work efficiently and quickly without a lack of superior quality.

Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Exceptional attention to detail and quality control.

Ability to organize, prioritize, and reorder workload in a dynamic environment.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Flexible thinker with the ability to make sound independent decisions.

Ability to work with direct supervision, check ego at the door, and work well with others at all levels in the organization.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
