Associate Technical Designer – SWIM / INTIMATE APPAREL Jobs in New York, NY at Aquilon
Key Responsibilities
- Experienced in Intimates and/or Swimwear
- Knowledge of patternmaking is a plus!
- Knowledge of grading & nesting is a plus!
- Develop tech packs including sewing construction & detail, graded spec
- Track / receive fit samples and prepare for fitting
- Prepare fitting with live fit models and take detailed notes, schedule fittings with model and internal teams
- Communicate with factories resolving any questions arising from patterns and technical specs, helping to maintain designer’s direction and aesthetic expectation
- Maintain professional & clear daily communication with cross functional team and factories regarding construction details
- Assist our multi cross-functional teams from Design, Product Development, to Technical Design and Patternmaking Teams
Job Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Technical Design or Pattern Making
- At least 3+ years of technical design experience in the apparel industry
- Technical knowledge of sewing machine and garment construction
- Must be proficient in Illustrator & Microsoft Suite, must be proficient in Excel
- Experience fitting and correcting women’s garments with designers, preparing specs and communicating all corrections to factories
- Self-motivated and self-directed with continuous desire to learn and grow
- Takes initiative
- Excellent communication, organizational skill, attention to detail and follow-up skills
- Must be legally eligible to work in U.S.A
