Full Job Description
A well-known footwear manufacturing company located in the heart of New York’s Garment District is looking for a Designer in our Athletics Division.
Summary of Duties:
Responsible to create innovative athletic designs and concepts for the current market including by not limiting to sandals, sneakers, and casual footwear.
Execute complex 2D and 3D design concepts timely
Responsible for understanding the technical aspects of athletic footwear product development: Aesthetics, Materials, Development, Manufacturing, Quality and Construction
Shopping the U.S. footwear market to ascertain silhouettes as well as market trends
Manage multiple design projects along with hitting target deadlines
Travel 10-15% of the year domestically and possibly internationally
Full command of Adobe Creative Suite with a heavy emphasis on high-speed concept/ rendering generation in Adobe Illustrator
Job Requirements:
College Degree in the related field
Five (5) years’ experience in an Athletics Footwear role.
Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator & Photoshop)
Extensive knowledge of consumer trends and styles
Must have excellent sketching and visualization skills.
Must have excellent organizational and communication skills in a fast paced environment
Must be able to collaborate with a team and work independently
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
