Responsibilities and duties
Welcome clients to the barber shop
Listen to client’s requests and suggest hairstyles accordingly
Wash, cut, trim, various type of hair
Educate clients and promote other salon services
Emphasize professional hair/beard product’s benefits and assist clients in the selection of retail products for their hair care needs
Form bonds with loyal customers and remember their hairstyle preferences
Maintain service quality by following standards of the barbershop
Clean and sterilize personal equipment such as scissors, combs, clippers, and other instruments
Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the barbershop
Schedule clients or cancel appointments at the clients’ request (personal clientele)
Maintain the safety of clients by applying standards of the barbershop and legal regulations
Proactively develop new clients
Qualifications
All state and federal-mandated active barber licenses
Ability to use barber shop software, and online booking systems
Maintain and improve trade knowledge by attending educational courses, workshops, following new fashion trends etc.
