Responsibilities

  • Book appointments.
  • Cut and trim hair according to client instructions or preferences.
  • Provide custom hair and scalp treatments.
  • Shampoo customers’ hair.
  • Shave and trim beards and mustaches.
  • Supervise other hair stylists, staff, apprentices and students in training.
  • Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair.
  • Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair.
  • Suggest hairstyles compatible with a client’s physical features and preferences.
  • Perform receptionist duties.
  • Maintain and order supplies.
  • Use blow‑drying techniques.

Qualifications

  • Education:

    Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

  • Experience:

    2 to less than 3 years in a similar role.
