Hair Stylist Responsibilities:
Consulting with clients on stylistic options for their hair.
Listening to client needs to determine their preferences.
Describing different hair care products and their benefits.
Shampooing, cutting, coloring and highlighting hair.
Performing scalp treatments.
Recommending appropriate retail products.
Building a personal relationship with clients to ensure return visits.
Adhering to salon safety and cleanliness standards.
Managing bookings and welcoming clients into the salon.
Keeping updated on hairstyle trends and styling methods.
Supplemental Responsibilities
Perform Facial Waxing (not a requirement, but would be suggested)
Maintaining a clean and organized workspace and salon. This will include organizing product and work area, dusting, sweeping, mopping, cleaning and sanitizing various areas of the salon, etc.
Perform administrative tasks for bookings and follow-ups with clients, this includes answering phones and maintaining the software-based schedule for clients. You will be expected to notify clients if you are unable to perform their service and reschedule accordingly for any reason.
Continual Education
Assisting with maintaining salon social media
Performing stock inventory and stock shipment receiving
Closing and Opening procedures.
Hair Stylist Requirements:
Valid cosmetology license.
High School Diploma or GED
Legally able to work in the United States, and are able to supply proof of Citizenship or Work Visa
Minimum 2 years of experience (within the last 5 years) of: hair coloring, shampooing, hair cutting, scalp treatments, utilizing hot irons/curlers/blow-dryers, formal styling, performing recommendations for various hair products pertaining to the clients needs, and hair consultations.
Experience in waxing is a plus, but not mandatory.
Reliable method of transportation to and from work; punctuality is vital.
English speaking, multilingual is a plus.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build good working relationships with clients and staff.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $30,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
