The Role

As a deployed Barber you will cut, trim, and style hair for Canadian Armed Forces personnel and partner nations, trim beards and moustaches, analyze hair and scalp conditions, advise on treatments, and support morale through recreational activities and events.

Responsibilities

  • Cut, trim, and style hair according to customer preference or military standards.
  • Trim beards and moustaches, analyze hair and scalp conditions.
  • Advise clients on hair care treatments.
  • Assist with recreational activities and events to enhance morale.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • Barber certification (Province).
  • Valid driver’s license (Province).
  • Canadian citizenship with a valid passport.
  • Previous experience in a barber shop or hairdressing salon.
  • Experience cutting and trimming to required standards.
  • Experience shaving and shaping beards and moustaches.

Additional Qualifications Prior to Deployment

  • Completion of health, dental and psychosocial assessment.
  • Security screening.
  • Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to walk, lift, carry, pull or push heavy items.

Language Requirements

English – Essential.

Job Information

  • Position type:
    Civilian deployment contract, 6‑month term.
  • Hours:

    up to 56 hours per week.

  • Location:

    Latvia.

  • Salary: $58,930 – $65,320 CAD per year.
