Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full-Time Barbering and Cosmetology Program Coordinator position in the Business and Public Service Technology Division. This position is located on Atlanta Tech’s Main Campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.

Position Overview

The Barbering and Cosmetology Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing the academic and administrative aspects of our barbering, nail, and esthetician, cosmetology programs. As a leader, they will guide faculty, mentor students, and ensure the department’s success. The ideal candidate should hold a valid instructor’s license and have a passion for both education and the beauty industry.

Job Responsibilities

Curriculum Development and Enhancement:

Collaborate with faculty to design and update relevant curricula for barbering and cosmetology programs.
Ensure alignment with industry standards, trends, and licensing requirements.
Regularly review and revise course materials to maintain program excellence.

Faculty Supervision and Development:

Recruit, hire, and onboard qualified instructors.
Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for faculty.
Conduct performance evaluations of part-time faculty and address any concerns promptly.

Student Success and Support:

Foster a positive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.
Address student inquiries, concerns, and grievances.
Monitor student progress and implement necessary interventions.

Program Administration:

Manage department budgets, resources, and equipment.
Coordinate class schedules and room assignments.
Ensure compliance with state regulations and accreditation standards.

Industry Engagement:

Cultivate relationships with local salons, spas, and beauty businesses.
Collaborate with industry professionals to enhance experiential learning opportunities.
Stay informed about industry trends and innovations.

Licensing and Accreditation:

Maintain departmental compliance with state licensing requirements.
Facilitate college accreditation processes and documentation.
Prepare reports and participate in external reviews.

Community Outreach and Marketing:

Promote the department’s programs through workshops, events, and social media.
Attend career fairs, industry conferences, and networking events.
Advocate for the college within the beauty community.

Preferred Qualifications

Instructor’s License: Must hold a valid instructor’s license for barbering, nail technician, esthetician, or cosmetology.
Experience: Significant experience in the beauty industry, including teaching and leadership roles.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Leadership Abilities: Proven ability to lead and inspire faculty and students.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and administrative skill.
