An established, fast-growing consumer brand is seeking an experienced Brand Marketing Director to join on a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover). This is a senior leadership role with immediate impact, suited to a commercially minded brand leader who thrives in a fast-paced, digital-first environment.

You will take ownership of brand strategy across multiple channels, leading high-performing teams spanning brand, creative, social, influencer marketing, and events. This is an opportunity to shape brand perception, drive growth, and deliver standout campaigns that resonate culturally and commercially.

The role

As Brand Marketing Director, you will sit within the senior leadership team and play a key role in business-wide strategy and decision-making. You will lead the development and execution of a cohesive brand and marketing approach across direct-to-consumer, retail, and wholesale channels.

Key responsibilities include

  • Leading the overarching brand marketing strategy, with a strong focus on driving customer acquisition and growth
  • Owning organic social strategy across platforms, defining content direction, tone of voice, and community engagement
  • Overseeing influencer marketing and events, building impactful partnerships and campaigns
  • Managing end-to-end campaign planning and execution, ensuring consistency across all channels and touch points
  • Leading and developing a multidisciplinary creative team, including production, design, and art direction
  • Driving brand elevation initiatives to strengthen market presence and cultural relevance
  • Ensuring a consistent visual and verbal identity across all customer interactions
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with product, commercial, and retail teams to embed brand strategy across the business
  • Building and managing the marketing calendar, aligning launches, campaigns, and key moments
  • Reporting to executive leadership and presenting at board level on brand performance and marketing effectiveness
  • Defining and tracking key brand marketing KPIs, using data and insights to inform strategy
  • Identifying emerging trends and opportunities to keep the brand at the forefront of its category

About you

You are an experienced brand marketing leader with a strong track record in consumer-facing, digital-first businesses. You combine creative instinct with commercial awareness and are confident operating at a senior level.

Essential experience and skills

  • Significant experience in brand marketing, including several years in a senior leadership role
  • Background within fashion, activewear, or a consumer lifestyle brand
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams across brand, creative, and marketing functions
  • Deep expertise in organic social media strategy and content performance
  • Strong experience building and scaling influencer marketing programmes
  • Commercially astute, with a clear understanding of how brand investment drives growth, acquisition, and retention
  • Experience working across multiple channels, including direct-to-consumer, retail, and wholesale
  • Confident communicator with experience presenting to senior stakeholders and board-level audiences
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across departments
  • Data-driven mindset, with the ability to interpret performance metrics and translate them into actionable insights
  • Highly organised, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
