Job Description: The Wedding Dresser is a bridal styling studio specializing in repurposing new, vintage and antique wedding dresses. We a alter and restyling gowns by adding straps and sleeves, build ups, reshaping skirts, adding lace and beading. We are seeking strong stitchers with a designers eye to work with our brides in our Brooklyn and Baltimore studios.

This job is perfect for anyone with costume design and construction experience, Bridal and special occasion design and construction and couture techniques training.
Required skills include some draping or pattern making experience, strong machine and hand sewing skills, a good design eye and strong customer service skills.
We are hiring both full and part time. This job works well for fashion or costume designers and makers who sew our dresses and build accessories to support their own work. Experienced bridal alterations specialists can sew at our studio or their own space. We can pick up and deliver work in South Brooklyn
Job Qualifications:
- Experience in constructing or altering wedding gowns, evening wear, or theatrical costumes.
- Proficiency in working with corseted gowns, horsehair, and baby rolled hems.
- Basic pattern making and cutting skills.
- Good hand finishing skills, with experience in beading and lace work being a plus.
- Draping experience is advantageous.
- Experience in fitting wedding gowns and/or evening wear on humans is a plus, but training is available.
- Ability to delegate work to interns and hand stitchers.
