About Us
For over 30 years, Dimitra Designs has been the Bridal and Formalwear Destination of the Carolinas. We have dressed three generations of the same families.
We carry more than 2,500 garments in a 15,000 square foot store, across eight divisions including in-house alterations. We are a close-knit team, and people stay here.
The Role
You will run bridal appointments from start to finish.
That means selecting from more than 1,000 gowns after a short conversation, translating what a bride describes into dresses she can try on, advising on what alterations can and cannot fix, and managing her party through the appointment. The work is physical: you are on your feet, handling wedding gowns, clipping, and helping clients in and out of them.
You will also carry individual and team sales goals, and the sale is rarely just the gown. A bride who leaves undecided rarely returns, so closing is part of the role.
If you have worked a bridal or boutique floor, this will be familiar.
What You’ll Do
- Style with expertise. Use your knowledge of form, fabric, and fit to select gowns that match a client’s vision and flatter her figure.
- Run the consultation. Guide clients through our process so every bride gets the same standard of attention and confidence in her fit.
- Complete the look. Pair gowns with the right veils, jewelry, and accessories.
- Work with alterations. Document fit observations, communicate client needs to our in-house team, and explain the alterations process clearly to brides.
- Sell across our divisions. The wedding gown is one piece of the event. You will also introduce mother-of-the-bride, bridesmaids, tuxedos, accessories, and alterations.
- Own your follow-up. Stay in contact with your clients whether or not they bought that day. A bride who left undecided often comes back with her mother, and a bride who bought comes back for alterations and for the rest of her party.
- Know the inventory. Develop real expertise across our designers and our full stock.
- Support the team. Assist with visual merchandising and maintain the presentation of the floor and fitting rooms.
The Schedule
Brides shop on weekends, so every Saturday (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM) is required.
Sundays rotate among the team. Sunday shifts run 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM from January through April, and 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM the rest of the year.
Weekday hours run Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
- Part-time: 20-25 hours per week
- Full-time: 35-40 hours per week
Required
- At least one year in bridal, fashion, or apparel retail. The job depends on knowing garments.
- Experience working toward and hitting sales goals.
- Availability every Saturday and for rotating Sunday shifts.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle gowns throughout appointments.
- Comfort with basic computer and point-of-sale systems.
- Polished, professional presentation and a positive, team-first attitude.
Preferred
- Bridal, special occasion, or luxury retail styling experience.
- Knowledge of gown construction, fabric, fit, and common alterations.
- Experience selling veils, jewelry, or other accessories.
