Reports to: Business Development / Merchandising Lead

Job Purpose:

To support business growth by developing client relationships and ensuring smooth merchandising operations, specifically in the T-shirt and bags category, with a strong understanding of buying house processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify and pursue new business opportunities, especially in T-shirts and bags categories.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with buyers, brands, and buying houses.

Assist in sample development, approvals, and communication between buyers and production teams.

Coordinate order processing, production follow-ups, and ensure on-time deliveries.

Prepare and present proposals, product presentations, and negotiate prices with clients under senior supervision.

Handle costing and sourcing activities, particularly for T-shirts and bags, including fabrics, trims, and accessories.

Keep detailed records of client communications, sampling, orders, and production schedules.

Monitor industry trends and competitor activities specific to casual wear, promotional bags, and fashion accessories.

Attend client meetings, exhibitions, and trade shows to generate new leads and showcase product capabilities.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion, Textiles, or a related field.

1–3 years of experience in merchandising or business development, specifically handling T-shirts, bags, or related soft goods.

Prior experience working with buying houses is mandatory.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

Detail-oriented, good in time management, and proactive in follow-ups.

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of ERP/CRM systems is an advantage.
