We are looking for an experienced Buyer to join our retail team and take responsibility for product
selection, assortment planning, supplier management, and inventory performance across our home and
lifestyle categories.
Candidates should have 10+ years of relevant experience in buying, merchandising, or category
management, with strong experience in home textiles, home accessories, furniture, lifestyle,
fashion, or related retail categories.
The ideal candidate combines strong commercial judgment with an understanding of customer
preferences, international market trends, pricing, sourcing, and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the buying process across assigned product categories, from product selection and sourcing through ordering and delivery.
- Build and continuously optimize product assortments based on sales performance, customer demand, market trends, and business strategy.
- Source and develop new products and suppliers locally and internationally.
- Attend international trade fairs, exhibitions, supplier meetings, and sourcing trips to identify new products, suppliers, trends, and commercial opportunities.
- Travel internationally as required for sourcing, supplier development, and buying activities.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, quantities, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions with suppliers.
- Analyze sales, margins, sell-through, stock levels, and inventory aging to support buying decisions.
- Identify slow-moving products and recommend markdowns, promotions, or other actions to improve inventory turnover.
- Work closely with the retail team to understand store performance, customer feedback, and product opportunities.
- Coordinate with Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Design, Production, and Operations on product launches and seasonal collections.
- Monitor competitor assortments, pricing, promotions, and emerging trends in the home and lifestyle market.
- Support pricing decisions to ensure competitiveness while protecting target margins.
- Plan buying requirements for existing stores as well as new store openings. Candidate Profile
- Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in buying, merchandising, category management, or a similar commercial retail role.
- Strong experience in home textiles, home accessories, furniture, lifestyle, fashion, or related retail categories.
- Proven experience attending international trade fairs and exhibitions and conducting international sourcing trips.
- Established understanding of international suppliers, sourcing markets, and product trends.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work confidently with sales, margin, sell-through, and inventory data.
- Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills.
- Excellent commercial instinct and understanding of consumer trends.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-moving retail environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- Fluent English required; Arabic and/or French are an advantage.
- Willing and able to travel internationally as required.
