Buyer & Product Developer Jobs in Ultimo, New South Wales, Australia at St Frock

Title: Buyer & Product Developer

Company: St Frock

Location: Ultimo, New South Wales, Australia

Shape the collections our customers can't wait to wear.

The Opportunity

This is far more than a traditional buying role.

You'll combine commercial thinking with exceptional product development skills to create collections that are both fashion-forward and commercially successful.

Working closely with our Head of Buying, Senior Planner and CEO, you'll take ownership of the product development lifecycle—bringing ideas to life through thoughtful design, outstanding fit, strong supplier partnerships and disciplined execution.

You'll help shape collections that reflect the St Frock brand while meeting the needs of Australian women. Rather than simply grading from a sample size, you'll consider fit from the very beginning, developing flattering silhouettes that balance proportion, comfort and style across our core size range of 8–20. Plus/curve and size 16 and up centric experience will be highly regarded for this role!

If you're someone who loves seeing an idea evolve into a best-selling style, this role offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact.

About St Frock

At St Frock, we believe great fashion starts with understanding real women.

We're an Australian online fashion brand creating beautiful, wearable collections that make women feel confident every day. From the perfect dress for a special occasion to effortless everyday styles, every product we launch is designed with one goal in mind—to become a customer's favourite.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Buyer & Product Developer who shares our passion for creating exceptional product.

This is an opportunity to influence every stage of the product journey—from identifying trends and developing concepts through to sourcing fabrics, refining fit, collaborating with suppliers and launching commercially successful collections that our customers genuinely love.

What You'll Do

  • Develop trend-led collections that excite our customers and deliver strong commercial results.
  • Own the end-to-end product development process—from concept and range planning through to sampling, fittings, production and delivery.
  • Source fabrics, trims, prints and finishes that balance quality, style and commercial outcomes.
  • Lead fit sessions, evaluate samples and continually refine garments to deliver exceptional fit, comfort and quality.
  • Develop silhouettes that flatter across our size range, considering proportion, balance and fabric performance from the outset.
  • Build strong partnerships with offshore suppliers and our China-based sourcing team to develop exclusive product, negotiate costs and deliver outstanding quality.
  • Manage the critical path to ensure products launch on time and within budget.
  • Analyse sales performance, customer feedback and market trends to identify opportunities for repeat styles, product improvements and future range development.
  • Work closely with Planning to maximise sales, manage inventory and optimise product performance.
  • Collaborate with our Creative and Marketing teams to ensure every collection is launched with compelling product stories that resonate with our customer.
  • Champion product across the business, communicating the seasonal vision and inspiring confidence in every collection.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve product quality, fit, sourcing and the overall customer experience.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who is equally passionate about fashion and commercial performance.

You'll bring:

  • Proven experience as a Buyer with strong end-to-end product development experience in women's fashion.
  • Experience developing and fitting womenswear across multiple size ranges, particulary a focus on size 16 and above.
  • A genuine passion for developing product—not simply buying it.
  • Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, grading, fit, fabrication and how different fabrics perform across a range of body shapes.
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to interpret sales data, customer insights and market trends into successful product decisions.
  • Experience working with offshore suppliers and managing the development process remotely.
  • Strong negotiation, supplier relationship and sourcing skills.
  • Excellent planning, organisation and critical path management capability.
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced online retail environment where speed, quality and collaboration are equally important.
  • A deep understanding of the Australian womenswear market and what women in our target market want.
  • Qualifications in Fashion Design, Fashion Business or a related discipline.

Why Join St Frock?
