The Buyer is a key role responsible for working within the Operations & Manufacturing department to ensure supply chain and inventory levels are adequate to meet production lead-times. They will also be the lead on vendor relations ensuring that our partnerships with 3rd party vendors are in line with Grid’s strategic goals for growth. An enthusiastic self-starter with a strong drive to improve existing processes and systems is highly desired. Excellent organizational skills and exceptional multitasking skills are a necessity.

Grid is seeking a hands-on, experienced Buyer/Planner to provide overall Guidance in this department working with other key business unit leaders to make sure we have the projects scheduled and raw materials to build them. This position will report directly to the President and will be responsible to give weekly inventory reports and "flagged" items that would cause failures. This individual will need to have a thorough understanding of ERPs/MRPs and project scheduling and work very well with other business unit leaders.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Proven ability to effectively manage vendor relationships, purchasing duties, and working closely with the inventory management team
- Strong business acumen, to include professional consistency with emailing, executive reporting and dialogue with 3rd party partners
- Strong technical systems background: Supply Chain management, MRPs, ERPs and digital folder systems
- Creative thinker, problem solver, and coordinator with experience in developing and implementing processes
- Team player that is committed to a teamwork environment, leading by example with a hands on approach to get things done. Strong collaboration and relationship building skills.
Job Description:

- Manage & perform Purchasing and Inventory levels/reporting
- Creates and release Purchase Orders through our ERP to 3rd party vendors, obtain order acknowledgements and verify accuracy of POs.
- Maintain and record inventory levels, create Min/Max auto repurchasing positions, review pricing to confirm consistency and verify leadtimes with delivery dates
- Shore up relationships with 3rd party vendors to build alignment with Grids strategic growth goals.
- Expedite and resolve issues that arise based on challenges
- Identify areas of improvement and presenting these initiates quarterly to management.
- Support operational and departmental excellence, while fostering teamwork between all functions.

- Additional duties and special projects as assigned
