Overview:

Responsibilities:
· Select and procure merchandise in conjunction with Buyer.
· Provide operational support to Buyers
· Attend market visits to assist the Buyer in selecting and negotiating products that meets the customers’ needs
· Work with Vendors to resolve any shipment, delivery, or product issues
· Analyze business selling reports and provide recommendations to the Buyer
· Maintain planned receipt flow on a consistent basis. Track when merchandise is being received.
· Execute sales, margin, and inventory plans. Monitor and respond to issues and opportunities resulting from deviations in plan variances, and share concerns with Buyer
· Assist in analyzing merchandise, department, and vendor performance
· Assist in replenishment strategies and programs
· Analyze sales trends, key items, vendor profitability and aged inventory and make recommendations for driving improved performance
· Compile reports for Buyer that analyze sales, receipts, and margin profitability.
· Analyze assigned category(s) on a regular basis to identify opportunities, trends, and sales shortfalls. Design specific action plans to enhance sales.
· Work with Buyers to manage the markdown and RTV process in accordance with Coastal Edge policy
· Properly entering new items into the database
· Accurately inputting price changes
· Creating purchase orders for the buyers
· Running weekly reports as directed by the buying team
· Frequent communication with the buying and management teams
· Performs more administrative duties that allow the buyers to function more efficiently and effectively within the organization
· Perform data entry functions, including but not limited to, RTV’s, new item set up, PO entry, markdowns, and transfers.
· Perform a variety of administrative duties such as answering phones, distributing reports, creating presentations, filing, and typing.
· Responsible for embracing Coastal Edge’s core values and principles.
Position Requirements:
· Office work environment
· Full time (40+ hours)
· Must have strong communication skills.
· Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word and preferably Retail Pro
· Ability to move and react quickly to sell-through reports
· Must be task driven and pro-active when it comes to executing tasks
· Must be numerically strong and understand the relation of sales and inventory; perform analysis and derive trend/risk opportunities and must be proactive in identifying risks and opportunities.
· Must be able to work occasional evenings and/or weekends during periods of high volume.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Associates or bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/training preferred.
Experience: Retail experience is preferred
Job Related Skill: Managing multiple tasks, strong written and oral communication skills, excellent organizational skills. Applicants have high attention to detail, strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
