Printemps New York offering an unpaid internship opportunity for a Buying Beauty & Jewelry within its luxury retail environment (3 months).
This role is designed as a structured learning experience in luxury retail.
The Buying Intern will support the Beauty & Jewelry Buying team in the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced luxury retail environment. This role offers hands-on exposure to merchandising strategy, vendor coordination, and trend analysis across both categories. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about luxury beauty and fine jewelry.
The primary purpose of this internship is education and training, in collaboration with the intern’s university program.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist buyers in managing back-end data organization and template upkeep
- Support vendor communication, including follow-ups on deliveries, samples, and product information
- Maintain accurate product data in internal systems (pricing, descriptions, SKUs)
- Conduct competitive market research and trend analysis across beauty and jewelry
- Assist in tester, sample, and GWP organization, physically and systemically
- Support store floor visits to monitor merchandising standards and product performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including merchandising, visual, and marketing
Duration: 3-4 months (subject to academic program requirements and approval)
This is a 100% on-site role based at our One Wall Street corporate office.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Merchandising, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic formulas)
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and synthesize data
- High level of attention to detail and data accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Open and amenable to going from sitting at a desk working on excel, ticketing product, and physically organizing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with large datasets or retail reporting tools
- Familiarity with merchandising KPIs (sell-through, GMROI, weeks of supply, etc.)
- Previous internship in buying, planning, or merchandising
