Marissa Collections is seeking a Buying Coordinator who thrives in a fast-moving, detail driven environment and brings a refined understanding of the luxury retail landscape. This role sits at the center of our buying operation, supporting market preparation, managing vendor communication, creating compelling visual materials, and keeping merchandise information organized and accessible across the business.
The Buying Coordinator plays a critical support role across the full merchandise cycle – from pre-market preparation through post-market reporting. You will work closely with buyers, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure the buying process runs seamlessly at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
Market & Vendor Communication
- Support all aspects of market preparation, including scheduling buyer appointments and coordinating travel logistics
- Assist in ongoing vendor communication
- Track and maintain open purchase orders throughout the buying cycle
Creative & Visual Merchandising
- Develop and maintain visual merchandising materials that support the buying team
- Create category recap materials for key classifications
- Maintain and update all visual materials to reflect current inventory
Reporting & Brand Communications
- Produce regular sell-through and inventory reports that inform buying decisions across categories
- Create designer bios and trend summaries that communicate brand vision to internal teams
- Maintain organized shared files and ensure merchandise information is accurate and accessible across departments
Who You Are
- You have a genuine passion for luxury fashion
- You are exceptionally organized, with a natural ability to manage competing priorities without losing precision
- You communicate with clarity and professionalism — in writing, in conversation, and in the materials you produce
- You work with urgency and ownership
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new systems; experience with retail buying platforms
- A background in luxury retail, buying, or merchandising is preferred — but a strong work ethic and genuine curiosity will take you far here
