JOB DESCRIPTION
Good understanding of basic buying principles
Strong organizational, administrative and self-management skills to meet deadlines set
Strong desire to learn, along with professional drive
Passion for homeware and best buying practices
Good problem solving and critical thinking skills
Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal and social abilities
Good written and verbal communication skills to communicate and work with other internal, and external, team members daily
Proactive and self-starter mentality and work ethic
Extensive attention to detail and ability to practice clear judgment and decision-making.
Accept, process and actively implement feedback and changes in a constructive manner
Manage own disruptive emotions (handle stress in ways that do not negatively impact others)
Familiarity with the business, and the essence of the brand and it’s product
Knowledge and skill in Microsoft Office, Outlook and other relevant programmes to be able to effectively implement and report on all the above
Duties And Responsibilities
Daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the Buying department’s activities – product launch, new product arriving, sample tracking, photography tracking for samples
Assisting with ad-hoc office tasks including answering emails and calls and arranging courier for samples, to and from suppliers/studio, as needed.
Maintain strong relationships and open lines of communication with relevant teams internally
Work with relevant internal teams to manage all aspects of buying administration
Support the whole buying team, in the planning, executing, tracking and launch of products into stores and online
Communicate and build professional relationships with suppliers
Assist with product display updates
Assist with putting together product briefs for seasonal looks
Take ownership and responsibility for tasks and activities and demonstrate follow-through with agreed deadline
Preference will be given, but not limited to candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act
